Renault Talisman 2015 (Norev)

Name changes in the world of cars are nothing new. By doing this the manufacturers want to highlight the “new beginning” and draw a clear line between the new model and its predecessors. Two years ago Renault took this approach with its large family car. After more than 20 years we said goodbye to the Laguna and hello to the Talisman. Although the car is new, the name itself isn’t because Renault used it for the first time in 2001 to name a concept coupe and then again in 2012 to name an executive saloon sold in China. The Talisman A.D 2015 however has nothing to do with the above models. It is an entirely new project that is virtually completely different from its predecessor. We have a new body style (a saloon instead of the hatchback), a new CMF platform also used in the Espace or the Kadjar and much larger dimensions (+16cm in length, +6m in width). The car was designed in the company’s new styling language – the gigantic Renault logo and the C-shaped LED day-lights immediately catch the eye. On the inside the new style is also evident – we have a large tablet in the centre of the massive, high-quality dashboard.

The company has ambitious plans with regards to the new model. Similarly to the Peugeot 508, the Renault Talisman is meant to be something more than an ordinary large family car. Renault intends it to be an alternative to the executive cars, replacing the unpopular Latitude (as well as the Laguna) in the manufacturer’s range.

The pictured model is a hot novelty. It’s been released in May and it arrived at my doorstep yesterday. Before the purchase, I had a small problem because I couldn’t decide whether to buy the pictured brown model (official name: Vison Brown) or the greyish-silver one (Cassiopée Grey). In the end I went for the brown one. I think that the miniature looks amazing. All the lights and decals look very nice, so do the carefully reproduced alloy wheels. The interior has been done fantastically too. We have nice, brown upholstery, the dashboard with brown inserts and nicely reproduced tablet in the centre of the cockpit. The presence of the Head-up display above the steering wheel is also a nice touch. The manufacturer even included the headlining and the handles, which unfortunately is a rarity in this scale. All there’s left to buy is the Grandtour. This is where the dilemma from the beginning comes back, because the estate is also available in two colours (navy blue or beige).

History
The Renault Talisman was first introduced to the press on 6th July 2015. The official premiere took place in September of the same year during the Frankfurt Motor Show, with the model going on sale at the turn of the year. From the beginning the car is sold as a saloon or an estate with five engines to choose from: petrol 1.6 TCe (150 HP or 200 HP) and diesels: 1.5 dCi (110 HP) and 1.6 dCi (130 HP or 200 HP). The customers can also choose from five trim levels: Life, Zen, Business, Intens and Initiale Paris. In South Korea the Talisman is sold as the Samsung SM6, while in the RHD markets the model is not available at all.

Zmiany nazw modeli w świecie motoryzacji to żadna nowość.

Klient może też wybierać pośród 5 poziomów wyposażenia: Life, Zen, Business, Intens i Initiale Paris.
