Ford Mondeo Turnier

Intended as a world car, the Mondeo Mk1 was launched in 1993, replacing the Sierra. It`s won the Car of The Year 1994 award. Mondeo had 3 body styles: a saloon, 5 door hatchback and an estate. A four wheel drive version was available, but it is very rare. Safety was a high priority in the Mondeo design with a driver's side airbag (it was the first ever car sold from the beginning with a driver's airbag in all of its versions) and side-impact bars as standard features. In 1996 a facelifted version was presented, often called the Mondeo Mk2.

Peugeot 309

Peugeot 309 was made betwenn 1985 and 1993. The 309 was originally intended to be badged as a Talbot Arizona, but in 1985 Peuegot decided to discontinue the brand, and market the Talbot Arizona as Peugeot 309 instead, hence the number jump in the sequence and slightly odd styling when compared to other Peugeots from the same era. Available as a 3 and 5 door hatchback. The sporty GTI version was introduced in 1987.

Lancia Lybra

I bought this model in a toy shop, on a school trip to France.

Lancia Lybra is a compact executive car, produced between 1999 and 2005, (last models were sold in 2006). It is available as a saloon and an estate (called SW). The name is a reference to the zodiac sign of Libra, which in Latin means balancing scale.

MG ZT

First diecast model in my collection bought by me in 2008. Its in "Goodwood Green". The real car was made between 2001 and 2005 and was based on the Rover 75. The bodyshell was almost identical to the Rover, but with more aggressive grille, sportier styling, stiffer suspension and re-tuned engines. The production ended in 2005, as MG Rover went bankrupt.
