Ford T

I have actually forgotten that I have that car. I found it a few days ago in my cupboard. :)

Ford Model T (sometimes called Tin Lizzie) was produced from 1908 to 1927, by Ford Motor Company founded by Henry Ford. The Model T is regarded as the first affordable automobile, that opened travel to the common middle-class American. However, the car wasn`t made only in the USA. Factories were also situated in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Ireland and England. The key to Ford T success was the method of producing the car that revolutionized the automotive industry and effectively caused the prices to drop throughout its "life". In 1909 the standard version cost $850 (equivalent to $21,987 today) and in 1915 the cost was $440 (equivalent to $10,108 today). By the 1920s, the price had fallen to $260, thanks to increasing efficiency of assembly line techniques and volume.
The car had a 2.9L front mounted engine, producing 20 HP and a top speed of 64-72 km/h.

The vast majority of the cars were black, however other colours were also available. The black paint was chosen because it was cheap, durable and it dried quicker than other paints. After 19 years of production, over 15 million models were made.

W 1909 r. standardowa wersja kosztowała 850 dolarów (dzisiaj równowartość $21 987), a w 1915 r. koszt wynosił 440 dolarów (równowartość $10 108). W latach 20-stych cena spadła do 260 dolarów, dzięki zwiększonej wydajności taśm motażowych oraz ogromnej popularności modelu. Samochód miał 2.9 litrowy benzynowy silnik o mocy 22,5 KM umieszczony z przodu. Prędkość maksymalna wynosiła 64-72 km/h.

Przeważająca większość samochodów była czarna, jednak były też dostępne inne kolory lakieru. Czarny lakier został wybrany ponieważ był tani, trwały i schnął szybciej od innych kolorów. Po 19 latach produkcji wybrodukowano ponad 15 milionów egzemplarzy.
