W przypadku Clio RS, Renault przyzwyczaiło nas do tego, że wprowadza wiele dodatkowych odmian modelu. Opisywany wariant RS Team jest jednak nietypowy, bo w jego przypadku nie chodziło o lepsze osiągi czy niższą masę. Aby świętować wygranie Rajdowych Mistrzostw Francji przez zespół Renault Sport, firma postanowiła wprowadzić bardziej przystępną cenowo wersję swojego najmniejszego modelu. Tak narodziło się Clio RS Team. Po usunięciu z listy wyposażenia skórzanej tapicerki, automatycznej klimatyzacji, świateł ksenonowych i systemu audio cena spadła o 3000 euro. Takie „Clio RS dla biedoty” kosztowało we Francji 19,900 euro. Na szczęście, inżynierowie w spokoju zostawili napęd. Pod maską pracuje ten sam dwulitrowy, wolnossący, 182-konny motor, który zasilał seryjne RS-y.
O miniaturze
Jak w przypadku cywilnego
Clio II opisywanego w poprzednim wpisie, jakość tego modelu jest bardzo
zadowalająca. Niby nie powinno to dziwić, bo autorem Clio RS Team też jest
Universal Hobbies, ale różne rzeczy w modelikowym świecie się już działy,
dlatego należy pochwalić producenta za utrzymanie poziomu. Modelik prezentuje
się świetnie w jaskrawopomarańczowym lakierze (pomarańczowy Sanguine wg.
nomenklatury Renault) z białymi pasami. Grubość pigmentu dobrano dobrze a sam
lakier położono schludnie. Jedyne modyfikacje jakie dokonałem w modelu to wkłady
lusterek oraz dodanie rejestracji. Na koniec dodam, że modelik pochodzi z serii
Renault M6 Collection.

When it comes to Clio RS, Renault accustomed us to introducing many variants of the model. The RS Team edition however, is a little bit different. In this case, better performance or lower mass were not the concern. To celebrate wining the French Rally Championships by Renault Sport, the company decided to release a more affordable version of its smallest model. That is how Clio RS Team was born. After removing leather upholstery, automatic aircon, xenon lights and audio system from the equipment list, the price dropped by 3000 euros. In France, this “poor man’s Clio RS” costed 19,900 euros. Thankfully, the engineers left the drivetrain in peace. Under the bonnet is the same, two-litre, naturally aspirated, 182-hp motor that powered the standard RS’.
About the miniature
Like with the standard Clio II discussed in the previous post, the quality of this model is very pleasing. Theoretically it shouldn’t come as a surprise, because Clio RS Team was also done by Universal Hobbies, but strange things have happened in the diecast world already, thus it’s worth commending the manufacturer for maintaining the standard. The model looks great in the vibrant orange paint (Blood orange or Sanguine orange in Renault’s nomenclature) with white stripes. The thickness of pigment grain was well selected and the paintwork itself is tidy. The only modifications I made is adding a real-mirror effect to the wing mirrors and providing the number plates. Finally, I’ll just mention that the model comes from the Renault M6 Collection.
