Renault Scenic E-Tech 2023 (Norev)

 

Europejski król klasy MPV powraca. Jednak nie jako minivan, lecz crossover. W dodatku w 100% elektryczny. Takie modne połączenie już zdobyło uznanie dziennikarzy - nowy Scenic zgarnął tytuł na Europejski Samochód Roku 2024. Czy ma też szansę zdobyć uznanie klientów i dorównać popularnością poprzednim wcieleniom?

Choć to nieuniknione, Scenic A.D 2024 nie powinien być traktowany jako bezpośredni następca "starego" Scenica. Ze starym modelem łaczy go tylko nazwa i przynależność do segmentu C. Nowy model to pomysł Renault na elektryczne kompaktowe auto rodzinne. Za konkurencję Francuzi obrali sobie m.in. Teslę Model Y, Kię Niro i Pegeota e-3008.

Już w maju 2022 roku Renault zasygnalizowało w jakim kierunku chce iść ze Scenikiem, pokazując prototyp Scenic Vision. Wersja produkcyjna, prawie identyczna z prototypem, debiutowała podczas targów w Monachium we wrześniu zeszłego roku. Scenic E-Tech powstał na platformie CMF-EV, na której bazują już dwa inne elektryczne crossovery: Renault Mégane E-Tech oraz Nissan Ariya. Scenic wymiarami mieści się między oboma autami; mierzy 447 cm długości, 186,4 cm szerokości i 157 cm wysokości.

Samochód zaprojektowano według schematów nowego wzornictwa Renault. Jest tu dużo ostrych krawędzi, nadwoie osadzono na dużych kołach a na przednim pasie znajduje się trójwymiarowy motyw z małych rombów. Całość prezentuje się zgrabnie i nowocześnie.

W środku wzornictwo też jest typowe dla współczesnych modeli producenta. Wyświetlacze i dotykowe ekrany dominują na desce rozdzielczej. Renault chwali się że wnętrze zaprojektowano z myślą o rodzinie. Faktycznie, rozstaw osi wynoszący 278,5 cm zapewnia przyzwoitą przestronność, ale wszechstronność kabiny nawet nie zbliża się do pojazdów MPV. Brak tu osobnych, suwanych foteli czy płaskiej podłogi. Małe szyby z kolei pogarszają widoczność.

Nie oznacza to, że Renault nie postarało się o kilka ciekawostek we wnętrzu. Do najciekawszych rozwiązań należą;

-oświetlenie wnętrza: co pół godziny automatycznie dostosowuje barwę do dobowego biologicznego cyklu człowieka. W dzień LED-y w desce rozdzielczej i bocznych drzwiach świecą zimniejszym światłem. Im bliżej nocy, tym staje się ono cieplejsze;

-dach SolarBay: dostępny za dopłatą szklany dach o regulowanej przezierności. W szczegółach opisałem go w artykule o Renault Rafale (pożna przeczytać tutaj);

-dźwięki powitalne oraz ostrzegające przechodniów podczas wolnej jazdy, skomponowane przez instytut Ircam i legendę muzyki elektronicznej - Jean Michel Jarre'a.

Na początku do wyboru będą dwie wersje napędu. 170-konna z akumulatorem 60kWh o deklarowanym zasięgu ponad 420 km i 220-konna z akumulatorem 87kWh o deklarowanym zasięgu ponad 620 km. Obie wersje dostępne są tylko z napędem na przód.

Na większości rynków Renault Scenic E-Tech wejdzie do sprzedaży wiosną. Z czasem przekonamy się, czy nowy model będzie równie popularnym wyborem wśród rodzin co poprzednie generacje. 

O miniaturze

Norev zdążył nas przyzwyczaić, że modele Renault są upraszczane i Scenic E-Tech niestety nie jest to wyjątkiem. Plastikowe kółka, lusterka odlane wraz z nadwoziem i kompletnie czarne wnętrze to grzechy dobrze znane. Szkoda, bo gdyby nie te uchybienia, byłaby to świetna miniaturka. Szczególnie pochwalić trzeba lakier. Metaliczno-matowy, prezentuje się bardzo ciekawie. W modeliku dokonałem jednej zmiany - dodałem szkiełka w bocznych lusterkach.

The European MPV king returns. Not as an MPV however, but a 100% electric crossover. This modern combo, already got the journalists' approval - the new Scenic won the European Car of the Year 2024 award. Can it also get the buyers approval and match the previous iterations in popularity?

Although it's unavoidable, Scenic A.D 2024 shouldn't be treated as a direct replacement for the "old" Scenic. The only things in common with the old model are the name and its C-segment size. The new model is Renault's effort at an electric compact family car. The French have cars such as the Tesla Model Y, Kia Niro and Peugeot e-3008 in sight as the main rivals.

Back in May 2022 Renault signalled the direction it wants to go in with the Scenic, by showing the Scenic Vision prototype. The production model, almost identical to the prototyped, debuted during the Munich Motor Show in September last year. The Scenic E-Tech was created on the CMF-EV platform, already used in two other electric crossovers: the Nissan Ariya and Renault Mégane E-Tech. The Scenic slots inbetween those cars in terms of size; it measures 447 cm im length, 186.4 cm in width and 157 cm in height.

The car was designed in-line with Renault’s current design language. There are many sharp angles, the body sits on large wheels and the front end has a three-dimensional pattern made up of small rhombus shapes. Altogether, it looks very shapely and modern.

Inside, the design also resembles that of brand’s other current models. Digital displays and touchscreens dominate the dashboard. Renault boasts that the interior was designed with the family in mind. Yes, a wheelbase of 278.5 cm does provide decent space, but the cabin’s versatility doesn’t even come close to the MPVs. There are no individual, sliding seats and no flat, even floor. Meanwhile the small windows reduce visibility.

That doesn’t meant that Renault didn’t put any novelties inside. The most interesting features include;

-interior mood lighting: every half hour it automatically adjusts to human body clock. During the day, the LEDs in the dashboard and side panels illuminate with a colder lighter. The closet to night time it gets, the warmer the light becomes;

-SolarBay roof: available as an option, this glass roof has adjustable opacity. I described it in more detail in the Renault Rafale article (you can read it here)

- welcome sound sequence and low-speed warning noise were composed by the Ircam institute and a famous electronic music composer – Jean Michel Jarre.

Initially, the car will be available in two versions. A 170 hp with a 60kWh battery and a 220 hp with a 87kWh battery. The base Scenic’s official range is 261 miles, while the 87kWh model has an official range of 385 miles. 

On most markets the Renault Scenic E-Tech will be available from spring. In time we will see, if the new model will become a family favourite, just like the previous generations.

About the miniature

Norev got us used to simplifying Renault models and the Scenic E-Tech is unfortunately no exception here. Plastic wheels, wing mirrors cast as one piece with the body and an all-black interior are all well-known sins. It’s a shame, because if it wasn’t for these flaws, it would’ve been a great miniature. The paintwork in particular deserves a praise. A metallic-matte grey looks very interesting. I made one modification in the model - I added a "glass" effect to the wing mirrors
